Job Summary:

The Junior Accountant will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting the accounting team in various financial tasks. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their accounting skills and grow within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record Transactions: Accurately input financial transactions into the accounting system.
  • Maintain General Ledger: Update and maintain the general ledger to reflect all financial activities.
  • Prepare Journal Entries: Create journal entries for various transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses.
  • Reconcile Accounts: Assist in reconciling bank statements and other accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Track Expenses: Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper allocation.
  • Support Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing necessary journal entries and reports.
  • File Documentation: Organize and maintain financial documents and records for easy retrieval.
  • Assist with Audits: Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow accounting standards and company policies to maintain financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other accounting team members to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in accounting or finance is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment
